Minnesota sophomore forward Charles Buggs has spent his summer rehabilitating from minor right knee surgery.
Coach Richard Pitino says Buggs has been taking part in noncontact workouts but will be "good to go" by late September, in plenty of time for the season.
After a redshirt year, Buggs showed glimpses of promise last season, with a 13-point game at home against Iowa. Pitino says the 6-foot-9, 210-pound Buggs could have benefited from a full summer of being healthy for on-court work, but the coach says he's still excited about his potential. Buggs is one of eight returning players on the roster.
Senior guard Andre Hollins, who was hampered in the postseason by a sprained left ankle initially injured in late January, feels much healthier and more confident, Pitino says.
