A semi driver has been arrested for driving under the influence after his truck tipped over on a freeway entrance ramp in downtown Minneapolis Thursday night.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. on the ramp to get on westbound Interstate 94. The overturned semi trailer lost its load of cardboard. The freeway was closed to Interstate 394.
The semi also took out 300 feet of guardrail and 25 posts. The truck was up-righted and removed around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Minnesota Department of Transportation crews worked overnight to replace the guardrail and reopen the freeway.
Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol said impairment was the primary factor of the crash.
