Republican Shots at Dayton Shift with Headlines

Created: 06/18/2014 1:41 PM KSTP.com

The Republicans running for Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton's job are employing new lines of criticism against the incumbent each day as they attempt to elevate their own standing ahead of the August primary that will determine his fall foe.

The foursome has ganged up to blame Dayton for a Fortune 500 company's decision to uproot its Minnesota corporate headquarters. They ripped him over unclear remarks on the state's new minimum wage law. And his administration's handling of indefinitely confined sex offenders has come under fire.

For Scott Honour, Jeff Johnson, Marty Seifert and Kurt Zellers it's as much about proving to potential GOP primary voters they're agile enough and tough enough to take on Dayton.

Dayton campaign spokesman Jeremy Drucker dismisses the cumulative GOP shots as distortions and distractions.
