5 EYEWITNESS NEWS attended the Vikings OTA Practice Wednesday where we spoke with Sharif Floyd, Audie Cole, Christian Ponder, Jerome Simpson and head coach Mike Zimmer on how the Vikings are progressing through OTA and Rookie Camps.
Defensive tackle Sharif Floyd believes he is improving individually and is excited for the possible return of Kevin Williams to the Vikings' defensive line. "I know I am doing a lot more right than wrong," Shariff Floyd said. "I see myself improving everyday."
Beginning his second year with the Vikings, linebacker Audie Cole is looking forward to leaving his rookie year behind him and continue to gain confidence and experience on the field. "I am a lot more comfortable now than I was as a rookie," Audie Cole said.
Quarterback Christian Ponder is taking advantage of the limited field time he has been seeing during OTA. "I am not getting as many reps as the other guys but I am trying to make the most of what I am given," Christian Ponder said.
After losing his starting position last season and with the addition of Teddy Bridgewater, Ponder reflected on his career with the Vikings. "I understand that I had some opportunities that I didn't take full advantage of," Ponder said. "If I would have played better I wouldn't be here right now in this situation.
New Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer also discussed his progress with the team thus far and where he hopes to go.
