Maddison Damon's day didn't begin how she'd hoped, but it ended better than she could have imagined as her one-hitter propelled Kasson-Mantorville to their first-ever State Softball Championship with a 3-0 win over LeSueur-Henderson.

The first pitch Damon threw was bunted for an infield hit.  But from there she baffled LeSueur-Henderson hitters the rest of the way, throwing a no-hitter from that point on.

Damon also provided the winning run, driving an RBI in the second inning for a 1-0 lead.

The eventual champs added one more run on Cori Kennedy's RBI in the third, and closed out the scoring in the fifth on Kaylea Schorr's unearned run.
