After trailing 2-0 after three innings, Lakeville South cut the deficit to one on a two-out Maple Grove error in the fourth.

Then in the sixth, a pair of infield singles paved the way to the tying run before Mariah Uphoff's perfect suicide squeeze bunt in gave South their first lead.

Maple Grove had taken their early lead on Jordan Mauch's 2-run double in the third.

Maple Grove managed to get two runners on base - the tying run on third and the go-ahead run on second - in their final at-bat, but Kylie Stober struck out Maple Grove star Sydney Smith to end the game.
