Wilshire Park Students in St. Anthony, Minnesota, got an end-of-the-school year surprise concert on Tuesday from “The Voice” contestant Kat Perkins.
Principal Kari Page organized the surprise with Brooke Schauf, a teacher whose spouse is Perkins’ manager.
The more than 700 elementary school students and staff gathered in the gym Tuesday morning where Perkins was introduced to cheers from the crowd.
Perkins then performed three songs and spoke to the students about achieving their dreams and doing what makes them happy.
“I’m here to share this message: Dream it; do it. This is what I live by,” Perkins told the students.
Perkins, who was raised in Scranton, North Dakota, but has lived in Minneapolis since 2000, also answered questions from students.
