Minnesota has retained the No. 1 spot in an annual report on senior health.

But the United Health Foundation's study also showed Wisconsin's rise from 19th to 10th in the nation was the biggest leap of any state.

The La Crosse Tribune reports the findings showed that nearly 15 percent of Wisconsin residents 65 and older reported falling within the past 12 months, compared with about 27 percent nationally. Minnesota's seniors fell at a nearly 26 percent rate, finishing 14th.

The report gives Wisconsin demerits for a "high prevalence of chronic drinking" and obesity.

The state ranks 49th for problem drinking, compared with Minnesota's 28th. Wisconsin ranked 47th in obesity, compared to Minnesota's 24.
