A confirmed case of whooping cough has been reported at Hastings High School.
Letters were sent home to the parents of Hastings students, encouraging them to get their children tested if they are coughing more then normal.
The beginning symptoms of whooping cough are similar to the common cold but are persist for a week or more but can be treated with antibiotics.
Kids are required to be vaccinated for this in Minnesota.
