Farhiya likes volleyball and hanging out with friends, but while she sounds like a typical 16-year-old girl, she's anything but.
The young lady is anything but typical; she's sassy, smart and is looking for a home.
While she doesn't have a favorite subject of her high school classes in biology, geometry, American literature, and U.S. history, Farhiya has aspirations to work in business or become a pediatrician one day.
She could use the support of a good home though she's upfront with the fact that she's a little reluctant about being adopted.
"I've been through a lot, and you have to earn my trust," she said.
For now, she said she's content with her foster family right now, but if the right family comes along, she could be open to adoption.
"I feel like if you are going to be my parents, just be there for me. That's all I need," Farhiya said.
