INTERVIEW: Fmr. Congressman Jim Oberstar Reacts to 2010 Election

Former Minnesota Congressman Jim Oberstar died in his sleep at his Maryland home Saturday morning, according to family.

Oberstar was the state's longest serving member of congress, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 2011.

KSTP's Tom Hauser caught up with Oberstar in Washington D.C. on Nov. 18, 2010, the day after he was defeated by political newcomer Chip Cravaack for the 8th congressional district in Minnesota.

Cravaak won a plurality of 48 percent of the vote. The election loss ended Oberstar's 36 years in office.
