Nearly 6,500 seats have been sold at the new Minnesota Vikings stadium, the team announced Friday. In the eight weeks since sales began, the Vikings report both the Field Club and the Valhalla Club have nearly sold out and over $30 million in Stadium Building Licenses have been sold.
Club seats are now available to all season ticket holders.
The team also announced it has sold 2,000 new season tickets for the 2014 season at the University of Minnesota. The team will spend the next two seasons at TCF Bank Stadium, the home of the Golden Gophers.
The team had previously said 70 percent of season ticket holders have renewed their tickets for the 2014 season, and expected the number to climb above 80 percent moving forward.
TCF Bank Stadium has a capacity of 50,720, but the Vikings will add 2,000 seats.
The new $975 million Vikings stadium is expected to be finished in time for the 2016 NFL season.
