Are you looking for ways to celebrate Easter this weekend? We've compiled a list of events taking place around the state, including Easter egg hunts, worship services and places to take pictures with the Easter Bunny:
Bloomington: Photos with the Easter Bunny: Parents can buy a souvenir photo for their kids from now through Sunday, April 20. Kids will also receive a special treat from Peeps & Company. Find more information here.
Bloomington: SCUBA Bunny is delivering treats to all the fishes at SEA LIFE Minnesota at Mall of America starting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17. While underwater, the bunny will be feeding hungry fish and entertaining guests as they watch. Attendees can also get a sneak peak at four new Brown Banded Bamboo shark egg babies.
North Mankato: SCHEELS Bunny Run 5K & Easter Egg Scramble: Dakota Meadows Middle School located at 1900 Howard Dr. in North Mankato will host a 5K race for $25. The race will begin at 9 a.m., and the Easter Egg Scramble will begin at 10:15 a.m. Find more information here.
Duluth: Bunny Bash: The Eighth Annual Bunny Bash will be on Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19. Kids can paint their faces, play fun games, participate in egg hunts and take photos with the Easter Bunny. All earnings will benefit the Honor Flight for Veterans. Find more information here.
Chanhassen: Easter Egg Candy Hunt: This event takes places at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at City Central Park. Prizes, coloring contests, candy hunts, and an appearance from the Easter Bunny will all be at the event. Find more information here.
Excelsior: Kids can join in the 15th annual Community Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Our Savior Lutheran Church and School. It takes place from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Excelsior Commons Park. Highlights include egg hunts, costumers, free food, prizes, live music, tours of the Excelsior fire truck, a puppet show and more.
Maple Grove: Best Egg Hunt Ever: April 20 marks the day of the free "Best Egg Hunt Ever" event at Maple Grove Senior High School. Kids 12 years old and younger can participate in a 50,000 egg hunt while parents or anyone over 12 years of age will participate in the Easter Worship Experience with live music and a message in the main auditorium. Plymouth: Easter Egg-Stravaganza: From 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, the event will be held in the Messiah UMC parking lot. Easter egg hunts will be available for children ages 3 through the fifth grade. Along with the Easter egg hunts, there will be a petting zoo, cake walk, face painting, snacks, the Easter Bunny and more. Find more information here.
St. Louis Park: Lions Club Egg Hunt: Kids ages 3-8 can participate in an egg hunt, coloring contest, and get special bags for egg collecting. This event will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Louis Park Junior High School. It costs $2 per child, and supervising adults are free. Find more information here.
Edina: Follow the Bunny Easter Photo Experience: Families are invited to take a picture with the Easter Bunny at Southdale Center. Find more information here.
St. Paul: Easter Egg Hunt: Kids ages 2-7 can search the front lawn of the James J. Hill House in St. Paul for plastic Easter eggs. They can also explore the Gilded Age home and listen to a story. It takes place from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at 240 Summit Ave.
South St. Paul: Skate with the Easter Bunny from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Saturday, April 19. The event is free. Those who do not own skates can get rental skates for free with a donation of non-perishable food items to benefit Neighbors, Inc. Attendees can dress as a bunny for a bunny costume contest and will be able to skate to music, enjoy treats, and look for the egg with a golden candy to win a $25 Visa gift certificate.
