If you looked up into the sky overnight, you might have caught a glimpse of the lunar eclipse.

It started around 11:55 p.m. Monday and ended just before 5 a.m. Tuesday. The lunar eclipse happens when the Earth, the moon and the sun are in perfect alignment, something that usually happens every couple of years.

In 2014 and 2015, though, we'll see four of them in the Western Hemisphere, a first in 300 years.
