The Rogers Police Department has identified the woman who crashed into a lake in Rogers on Monday afternoon as Karen Torgerson.

According to Rogers police, Torgerson was driving on Interstate 94 eastbound near a waste management company, VEIT USA, at 4:10 p.m. when she crashed into the lake.

Cody Shirley was in the area when he saw the car crash. Police say he went into the lake to help rescue Torgerson.

Torgerson was taken to the hospital, but was expected to be OK.

James Langowski, a motor operator with VEIT USA, launched a boat to help Torgerson get her belongings from the car. It was later towed from the lake.

No further details were available.
