It was built on the North Shore in the wake of a terrible storm and has protected the mariners on Lake Superior for nearly 70 years.

During a visit to one of Minnesota's most popular tourist destinations, the Split Rock Lighthouse, Jason Davis turns the clock back and meets the first keeper of the light and the man who was the last person to switch it off when it was decommissioned.

Join divers underwater as they explore a ship that was wrecked on the rocks before the beacon was built, and go out on the lake with a local fishing family that has been guided by Split Rock Lighthouse for generations.

Meet the people who have come here to photograph it and themselves.
