You've heard the warnings about texting and driving.
Now, the Federal Government hopes a new commercial drives that message home. The commercials, U Drive. U Text. U Pay., will air from April 7 through 15.
The new commercials are graphic and that's the point. They are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's campaign to cut down on distracted driving accidents and deaths.
In 2012, more than 33,000 people died in distracted driving crashes. The rise in incidents has led to 43 states banning texting while driving, including Minnesota and Wisconsin.
