INTERVIEW: American Heart Association Promotes 'National Walking Day'

If your sneakers have gone unused this winter, the American Heart Association is encouraging you to lace them up on Wednesday as part of National Walking Day.

Not only are they encouraging everyone to get out and walk, they’re hosting a rally at the Minnesota State Capitol to get support for the Safe Routes to School bill that would set aside money to build sidewalks and safe street crossings for kids.

The author of the bill, Rep. Melissa Hortman, joined 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS to talk about the legislation.
