A former Minnesota youth pastor is charged with a felony after investigators say he used a computer to inappropriately talk to girls as young as 12 years old.

Matthew Boos, 24, worked at a church in Savage until he was arrested Friday.

According to the criminal complaint, Boos created a fake online profile to communicate with young girls.

This case is reminding parents to focus on their kids' use of the Internet.

MTV's popular show "Catfish" and football player Manti Te'os experience made "catfish" a well-known term. It's when a person pretends they're someone else online. A "catfish" will use photos of another person to set up a fake online profile as they try to make people believe they're someone they're not. It can quickly turn into a dangerous situation.

Social Media Expert Josh Dahmes stopped by KSTP to discuss what parents should know to protect their children online.
