Gophers basketball starting center Elliot Eliason is doubtful for Tuesday's NIT Semifinal game against Florida State University, head coach Richard Pitino said. The redshirt junior fell and twisted his left ankle during practice Thursday, and was seen wearing a boot on his left foot Saturday afternoon.

"I don't know how effective he's going to be," Pitino said. "If he can't play full minutes, can he give us 10 to 15 minutes?"

Elliason averages about 22 minutes a game. He leads the team with just under seven rebounds per game and 72 blocked shots so far this season.

Mo Walker is the obvious choice to start in place of Eliason, but Pitino said he needs both men to play Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.

"Mo is playing well, but Elliot is very, very important to our team as well," Pitino said. "We're not better without Elliot."
