Jason Davis took a look back on some of the best places in the region worth taking a trip to.

On the border of North Dakota and Canada is an international peace garden that is a sprawling source of serenity for those who visit.

Just off the highway near Duluth, is a unique attraction that might get your heart beating a bit faster. The Alpine Coaster takes riders on a winding, speeding trip through the woods where you’ll get a good view and maybe a good scare.

It’s a long drive to the end of the Gunflint Trail, but for more than 200 years, it's attracted trappers, traders, miners and loggers, but more recently, it has attracted tourists. A local group has raised more than $1 million to renovate and re-purpose the first resort in the area into a museum for visitors.

A 16-foot-high boot is a symbol of a bustling business and long-standing tradition in Red Wing, Minn. The town is known for its factory that produces boots and shoes for every kind of work. A new museum takes visitors through the history, fashion and trends of boots from years back.
