The FBI most wanted posters are going high tech.
Minneapolis agents launched a new partnership with Clear Channel Monday that will feature fugitives on electronic billboards around town in an effort to capture more criminals.
The Minneapolis office of the FBI is incorporating the billboard system now because of success in other cities like Philadelphia.
Sixteen billboards around the Metro will feature the names and faces of wanted fugitives, as well as "hot pursuit" messages and national security threats.
Ralph Boelter of the Minneapolis FBI believes this addition to Minnesota freeways will be a positive attribute.
"Just incidentally they’re going to see that face; so this is an outstanding way to get the message, and get these images in front of the public," he said.
Robert Gaye, 32, who’s wanted for the rape of a 9-year-old girl, will be the first fugitive featured on the electronic billboard.
Clear Channel estimates 82,000 people will see the fugitives’ faces each day.
