Hamline University School of Law is now the top-ranked private law school in Minnesota, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 “Best Law Schools.”
Hamline Law has risen in the rankings again this year, moving from 126 to 121.
Hamline Law’s alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and health law programs also continue to be recognized for their quality. Hamline’s ADR program is now ranked third in the nation, marking the fourteenth consecutive year the program has been ranked in the top five nationally.
The health law program moved up from 16th to 15th place in national rankings, making it among the best of the increasing number of health law programs at U.S. law schools.
“We are pleased that Hamline School of Law continues to be recognized for the rigorous academic and real-world opportunities we provide for our law students,” Hamline University President Linda Hanson said. “It is particularly gratifying the rankings reflect that our alumni continue to successfully secure meaningful employment after graduation. It reaffirms our decision to right-size our recent incoming classes to meet market conditions."
A key factor in Hamline’s climb in the overall rankings was the emphasis on employment nine months after graduation in JD and JD advantage positions.
The U.S. News “Best Law Schools” rankings include 194 ABA-accredited law schools throughout the nation.
The rankings measure the law schools’ academic quality, peer assessment, assessment by lawyers and judges, selectivity, median LSAT scores, median undergraduate GPAs, acceptance rate, placement success, bar passage rate, faculty resources, expenditures per student, student-faculty ratio, and library resources.
