Minneapolis might be known as the "City of Lakes," but it seemed more like the city of puddles on Monday.
The city was getting 40 to 50 calls an hour about flooded intersections.
Crews were going from neighborhood to neighborhood using bobcats, jet vacuums, shovels and chisels to break away the snow and ice at catch basins, which drain water into the storm sewer.
"Busy, busy day! We have crews everywhere. We've got a real quick snow melt so our catch basins are flooding and plugging up," said Remington Edwards with the Minneapolis Public Works Department.
Each crew can complete up to 30 intersections a day. The city had about eight crews working Monday.
