When his father gave him and old clock to play with as a child, Tom Ledding was fascinated.
He grew up to become a teacher and is now retired on his property in northern Minnesota near Erskine, but his love for all things that "tick" never ended.
Today, Tom sits in a house where it is impossible to escape the sound of hundreds of clocks, ticking, ringing or chiming all day - and night - long.
He has restored them all, from simple alarms made in China with a waving Chairman Mao on the face, to big, thunderous grandfather clocks that belt out the hours with a series of sonorous "bongs."
Over the years, Tom has taught himself to become an expert at repair of old and antique timepieces and is one of the few people left who can fix almost any clock.
He has, at last count, more than four hundred clocks in every room of his home and most are for sale.
