Snow is narrowing streets in the City of Robbinsdale, leaving little room for emergency vehicles to safely pass.

The Robbinsdale City Council passed an ordinance on Tuesday, which restricts parking on the even-numbered side of all city streets. Residents may park on the odd-numbered side of the streets.

A mailing has gone out to all residents and the police will start giving out warnings to vehicles parked in the wrong spot. Then they plan to start issuing citations.

Certain streets will be included in the ordinance because of their width. Those streets are:

  • Noble Ave. N.
  • West Broadway
  • France Ave. N. from the 2600 block to the 3200 block
  • Regent Ave. N. from the 3700 block to the 4100 block
  • Parkview Blvd.
  • Zenith Ave. N. from the 2600 block to Lowry Ave. N.
  • Adair Ave. N.
  • Vera Cruz Ave. N. from the 4200 block to the 4500 block
  • 45th Ave. N. from Indiana Ave. N. to Robin Ave. N.

If two or more inches of snow falls, no parking is allowed on any street until it has been plowed from curb to curb.
