I remember as a kid growing up seeing Mike Tyson on the news and hearing about his amazing fights.  At the time, he seemed superhuman, because he was knocking out fighters in seconds.  I actually did watch a few of his fights and Mike Tyson seemed unstoppable.   I also thought that it was fascinating watching him box.

Another great memory I had was when “Mike Tyson’s Punch Out” came out for the NES.  That was and still is one of my favorite games ever.

Through the years Mike Tyson has had a lot of problems and has done some very questionable things.

I just finished watching a very interesting film that was released by HBO Home Entertainment called “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.”

“Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” was filmed by Academy Award nominee Spike Lee who is a personal friend of Mike Tyson.

For the first time, you get the chance to see Mike Tyson in a way you have never seen him before.  Mike Tyson is on stage and in front of a live audience at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre in New York City.  Mike shares stories of growing up, how he got into boxing, his divorce, getting arrested and how he turned his life around.

I really like how Mike tells his story.  He is alone on stage with a white background behind him and as he is talking photos of his past are shown.  You get to see photos of his mother, Mike as a kid and his early years of boxing.

Mike tells his story in a very raw and honest style and does not hold anything back.  His stories are very emotional and humorous at times.

There is also a bonus feature on the DVD that is called “Conversations” which includes interviews with Mike Tyson and Spike Lee along with other people involved with “Undisputed Truth” and they talk about the making of it.

The DVD also comes with a digital copy of the film which is nice.

I know that people who are fans of Mike Tyson or want to hear his side of his story should pick up HBO Home Entertainment’s “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. “  I found the film to be very informative and also very emotional and I thought that it was great hearing all of the stories from “Iron Mike” himself.
