During the biggest snowstorm of the season, one high school took extra precautions to make sure kids safely got to the Girls' State Hockey Tournament in St. Paul Thursday night.

Mounds View High School in Arden Hills ordered two free fan buses so they could see their team play at the Xcel Energy Center.

The principal told KSTP they supplied the buses so students didn't have to drive to the game.

"It's extremely important," Jeff Ridlehoover said. "We want our kids to go down there and celebrate the accomplishments of our girls who are participating in the hockey tournament and there's no real safer way to get down there then taking the bus."

The trip took about 45 minutes, which was about 15 minutes longer than usual.
