United advanced to the State Tournament without playing a Section Final after scheduled opponent Achiever Academy withdrew.

Regardless how they arrived, United made the most of the opportunity upsetting the 4th-seeded Mirage to earn a spot in the Class A Final Four.

United opened the scoring with tallies from Lauren Boettcher and Lea Grobe to take a 2-0 lead in the second.

The teams alternated goals late in the second period with Joie Phelps sending United to the third period with a 3-1 lead.

Proctor/Hermantown's Mikayla Kero cut the United lead to 3-2 4:51 into the third, but United slammed the door from there.

Kate Hallett and Phelps scored about three minutes apart late in the third to give United it's 5-2 win.

Katherine Johnson made 24 stops to earn the win.

United advances to play #1-seed East Grand Forks in the State Semifinals on Friday.
