Roseville firefighters will learn how to respond to ice emergencies during a special training this week.

The firefighters are teaming up with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office to practice ice rescues, including both self-rescues and victim rescue scenarios.

The fire department offers these types of training exercises several times throughout the year. They also have weekly trainings on various firefighting tactics, emergency medicine, and other rescue drills, according to city officials.

The training was scheduled to take place in January at Lake Josephine in Roseville but has since been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20.
