There’s new help on the way for families and their children who have autism.

The U.S. Department of Justice said Wednesday, it will fund voluntary tracking devices for kids with autism or other conditions that put them at risk for running away.

This comes after a 14-year-old New York boy disappeared in October and was found dead earlier this month.

KSTP wanted to know more about how these tracking devices work and how they help families. Emily Anderson from Fraser joined Ellen McNamara in the KSTP studio to talk more about the devices.
