The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday that they have signed right-handed pitcher Matt Guerrier to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training major league camp.

Guerrier, 35, made 393 appearances for the Twins from 2004-2010 with a 3.38 ERA and five saves. He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent in 2011. A flexor tendon injury cut his 2013 season short after 49 appearances, some of which came as a Cub after a mid-year trade. He had surgery in August.

A source told KSTP's Darren Wolfson a couple weeks ago that Guerrier just recently started his offseason throwing program. The flexor tendon injury will be monitored closely once he gets to Fort Myers. Typical recovery time for his surgery is 6-8 months.

Matt Guerrier played with the Twins from 2004-2010.
