The woman involved in a frightening accident last week that was caught by traffic cameras has been released from Regions Hospital.
Fifty-four-year-old Anne Spiess lost control on the Interstate 35E ramp to westbound Interstate 694 in Little Canada last Tuesday. Her truck hit a snow bank on the ramp, flew over the guard rail and fell about 70 feet onto a frozen pond.
Incredibly, her injuries were not life-threatening.
Tim Boss, a Little Canada firefighter, says he was shocked the driver was OK.
"It looked to me from when I was standing there, a 75 to 100 foot drop," he said. "She went over the edge and then rolled a couple of times and landed right down the ice there."
