Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and kick return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson has been selected to participate in the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl on Jan. 26 as a return specialist.

Patterson, 22, will represent the Vikings with Adrian Peterson. He will replace Antonio Brown, of Pittsburg, who was voted to the roster at two different positions. Brown will participate as a wide receiver.

Patterson was drafted 29th overall by the Vikings in 2013.

The South Carolina native was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 8 after setting the NFL record for longest kickoff return with a 109-yard touchdown against the Green Bay Packers in his first year coming out of Tennessee.

Patterson was also named the Offensive Rookie of the Month for December after scoring six touchdowns, three were rushing and three receiving. This is the third most in the NFL.

Patterson is the seventh Vikings rookie to be selected to the Pro Bowl, joining Chuck Foreman (1973), Randy Moss (1998), Adrian Peterson (2007), Percy Harvin (2009) Blair Walsh (2012) and Matt Kalil (2012).
