St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman was sworn in and outlined his plan for the next four years at a community celebration ceremony.
The mayor held a public celebration and ceremony Friday night at the Union Depot to celebrate his third term. The event included a formal swearing-in ceremony, a reading from St. Paul Poet Laureate Carol Connolly, an inaugural address by Coleman, and entertainment from the New Standards and the 9/16s.
At the beginning of the event, Coleman was sworn in and outlined his plan for the next four years.
Coleman emphasized the importance of education and sustainability to create a solid future for the city. He made reference to the location as the region’s preeminent transportation hub and said great cities must have dynamic transportation networks.
St. Paul City Council President Kathy Lantry introduced Mayor Coleman at the event.
Coleman won reelection with 78 percent of the vote in November.
