A new report highlighted Thursday by Minnesota Senator Scott Dibble and members of Blue-Green Alliance is focusing on creating more jobs through repairing the state's infrastructure.

The report shows Minnesota has some catching up to do.

The 2013 report card for America’s infrastructure found 9 percent of bridges in Minnesota are considered “structurally deficient”.

More than half of Minnesota’s roads are in “poor” or “mediocre condition,” according to the report.

According to the group, investing $1.5 billion for road and bridge repairs could create more than 41,000 jobs.

Senator Dibble says that's just one reason to invest, "the focus is not on how much it’s going to cost, but how much it’s going to cost if we don't do these things."
