In this season of giving many don't consider animals in need, including horses.
The wet spring has created a shortage of affordable hay this winter. The Minnesota Hay Bank, a non-profit food shelf for horses, is teaming up with Canterbury Park to help fill the need.
On Tuesday a truck load of hay was dropped off at the track. Canterbury will store the supply, which will be given out to horse owners throughout the winter.
The Minnesota Hay Bank was created to help responsible people who can't afford quality hay feed, to get their horses hay.
