Victims of last year's fungal meningitis outbreak don't hold out much hope that they will receive compensation for the deaths and illnesses caused by tainted steroids traced to a Massachusetts compounding pharmacy.

But some hope they will find justice if criminal charges are brought against the company's executives.

A federal grand jury in Boston has been investigating the Framingham-based New England Compounding Center for more than a year.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette says he will hold a news conference Monday with Boston U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz to discuss a development in the investigation.

The FBI recently asked anyone who received one of the tainted steroid shots to fill out a questionnaire about the injections and their illnesses.

More than 750 people were sickened in 20 states, including 64 who died.
