Minn. Parents Urged to Promote Safe Teen Driving Habits

Parents are the focus of a new video urging safe driving.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety released the video today, it presents stories of Minnesotans impacted by crashes involving teen drivers.

There are five key points in the video. DPS says the video can be used as part of driver's training programs.

The hope is parents will become more involved teaching their teens safe driving habits.

Fifteen-year-old Dani Lopez is hoping to get her license in February and says practicing behind the wheel with her parents is the best help.

"It's hands on, the only way you can learn how to drive is by doing it manually, because you can only learn so much from reading and taking tests," said Lopez.
