Minnesota lawmakers and election officials are weighing in on a pilot program that placed iPads at polling places during the recent election.

Voters used touch pads at the polls to sign in as part of an experiment to see if technology can cut wait times, save money and make it easier to keep track of who has voted.

The reviews were mixed.

"I thought that it's got a lot of promise," said Max Hailperin, computer science expert.

Overall, task force members say there are kinks to be worked out before the program could be implemented at all polling places.
