The tree that will adorn St. Paul's Grand Opening Ceremonies at Rice Park for the holidays is from nearby Roseville.

The blue spruce, towering at 65 feet tall and 25 feet wide, will be cut down on Monday and delivered to Rice Park.

The tree will then be covered in 15,000 lights and lit at 5 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 30 at the Landmark Plaza, adjacent to Rice Park in downtown St. Paul. KSTP's Dave Dahl will be the Master of Ceremonies.

The celebration will also include a free open skate and skate rental, skating demonstrations by the St. Paul Figure Skating Club and a concert.
