A public dedication celebration planned for 10 a.m. Nov. 22 at the Hastings, Minn., City Hall will mark the opening of the new four-lane bridge.
Minnesota Department of Transportation officials said the northbound and southbound traffic on the Highway 61 bridge will remain single lane through the Fourth Street intersection through Nov. 17 when all four lanes will open.
Crews will continue to work on slipping the median, grading in the plaza area below the overpass and down the center of the bridge, and installing the west-arch aesthetic lighting even after the bridge fully opens to traffic.
