New research at Mayo Clinic has linked America’s obesity epidemic with a different epidemic: arthritis.

It now affects one in four American adults, according to health experts.

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of the condition. It occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wears down.

Excessive weight on your body can make it worse, quicker.

Researchers say this creates a vicious cycle. People with arthritis often aren't as physically active because of the pain, leading to more weight gain.

There is no cure for Osteoarthritis
