As of Tuesday, we have officially entered the snow season in Minnesota.

Being prepared for snow means being equipped with the proper supplies you may need in the event of an emergency or disaster. Survival kits come in a variety of sizes, contain supplies and tools to provide you with the basics to keep you warm, meet your health and first aid needs, provide food and water and help you signal to rescuers.

"I keep an MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) in it," Clarissa Zimmerman said.

If you don't know what that is, it's the ever so tasteless field rations.

"I love to eat. So if I was getting stranded I would want to make sure there was food," she said.
