The weekend is nearly upon us and there are plenty of events happening in the Twin Cities. Bradley Traynor from MY TALK 107.1 joined Rusty Gatenby in-studio to talk about some of the highlights. This week: horror, ballet and "Ghosts."

If you're feeling the Halloween spirit, check out the Twin Cities Horror Festival Oct. 31-Nov. 9 at the Minneapolis Southern Theater. Seven local groups will put on 40 horror performances. The festival is set up like a mini-fringe festival, so you can purchase a pass for the entire festival or just pick and choose which shows on the schedule you want to enjoy.

It isn't Halloween themed, but the James Sewell Ballet will celebrate a special time in Minneapolis: it's 20th anniversary. The Minneapolis-based dance company said the show promises to be "an explosive, athletic celebration" with a tribute piece to Minnesota's embrace of equal marriage rights. Shows run Oct. 25-Nov. 3 at the Cowles Center.

Playwright Henrik Ibsen's classic play "Ghosts" comes to life Oct. 16- Nov. 3 at historic Turnblad Mansion in Minneapolis "Ghosts" offers commentary on the gender roles society imposes. The American Swedish Institute is presenting the shows, and tickets are $30.
