The first responders who saved the life of a young boy who was run over by a train will receive a special recognition Thursday.
In August, the 9-year-old boy was trying to hop on the slow-moving train in St. Paul when he fell and got caught under the wheels, severing his feet.
A St. Paul police officer and fire department medics acted quickly, using a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
On Thursday, Regions Hospital will honor the first responders for using the training they got from the hospital just months earlier.
