With dense fog expected to linger into Thursday morning, you might want to allow extra time for your morning commute.
Fog was thick across the Twin Cities Wednesday night, and KSTP.com Meteorologist Dave Dahl doesn't expect the visibility to get much better by the morning.
The visibility improved earlier Wednesday night. Dave says at one point we were down to less than 1/4 of a mile. As of 10 p.m. we were up to visibility of 1.5 miles in the metro. He says the fog is thicker to the west and northwest, and a little lighter to the south.
Rain showers are moving through the area overnight, which could make the fog thicker.
