Roseville police officers arrested an armed robbery suspect just 12 minutes after he allegedly demanded cash at the North American Bank Company Tuesday morning.
Officers say 30-year-old Jake Charles Cogswell was arrested at 11:12 a.m. after a robbery was reported at 11 a.m. on the 2200 block of Albert Street. Witnesses say the suspect had a semi-automatic pistol and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank’s vault.
Police arrived within minutes and found a man fitting the suspect description slamming the trunk lid on an illegally-parked Dodge Neon near the bank’s entrance. They say he was wearing bullet-resistant body armor.
Cogswell admitted to the armed robbery and is facing a possible first-degree aggravated robbery charge.
The crime is being investigated by the Roseville Police Department and the FBI.
