Six weeks ago Stillwater beat Cretin-Derham Hall on national television. Since that night, the two teams have gone in different directions: the Raiders have won five straight while the Ponies have lost five straight.
The teams squared off at the University of St. Thomas Friday night in the first round of the Section 6A football playoffs.
Cretin-Derham Hall opened the scoring mid-first quarter when quarterback Ricardo Johnson connected with Eli Wright in the back corner of the end zone to make it 7-0.
Raiders running back Blake Banham had a big night, scoring three touchdowns in the first half.
Stillwater was able to run the ball effectively at times, but was unable to find the end zone. Cretin-Derham Hall goes on to win 41-0.
The Raiders also avenged last year's first-round playoff loss to Woodbury, the first time since 1989 the team had failed to advance in the playoffs.
