More Minnesotans are choosing to save a life by simply checking a box.

We learned Thursday, there has been a sharp increase in the number of drivers choosing to become organ donors. In fact, donors have increased 13 percent in three years to 2.6 million.

About 3,100 Minnesotans are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant right now.

It's not too late to become an organ donor.

Sara Wolz McFee with Minnesota Lions Eye Bank stopped by our KSTP-TV studio to talk about organ donation. You can watch her interview in the video player.
